What Breaks Us

Grief has its own tempo, and it is slower than almost any director first asks for. Behind this door live the pieces we wrote for farewells — the weight that arrives when a story finally tells the truth, the dignity of staying in the sad moment rather than rescuing it.

We score loss for real rooms with real people in them, which teaches restraint faster than any brief: an audience will forgive silence long before it forgives sentimentality. What remains after these pieces end is the point of them.
