Playful Sparks

Mischief is serious craftsmanship. The pieces behind this door were written to make rooms smile — small wiggles of woodwind, a bassline up to something, timing borrowed from comedians rather than composers. Much of it was scored for characters: creatures of moss, children's theatre, worlds where the joke has to land eighty shows in a row.

Play is also the fastest way to make an audience trust you. Open this door expecting lightness with its shoes on the wrong feet — and craft underneath every wink.
