The music behind this door stands closer than the others. It is written for intimacy — for two people in a story finding each other, for warmth at ground level, for the scene where nothing needs to be said and the score must say it anyway without raising its voice.

Closeness, scored honestly, is mostly a matter of what you leave out. These excerpts keep their instruments few and near, the way a held hand is near — because we have watched audiences lean in when the music does.
